welcome to ANI in the air wondrous Wednesday where I talk about something
0:04
wondrous so yeah this week is kind of the meta week not really sure what to
0:13
say about all the wonder about it I guess maybe just trying to say what it
0:21
was wondrous about this whole year she guessed the podcast covered so yeah you
0:29
know like we have this pandemic we shut down on Friday the 13th in March of 2020
0:39
and we kind of figured out what to do in the fall did this hybrid thing first you
0:49
know when we opened up you know maybe half were online and half were offline
0:54
all right half were present and then as
1:02
kovu went up we had to close down on Friday the 13th November 2020 and well
1:11
transition to online I should say fully online which we did for a few months one
1:17
thing that that did help me do is start the role-playing campaign which we did
1:24
online for a number of months and we have just completed just today it was
1:32
fun ultimately the the party completely failed and so many ways although I guess
1:43
perhaps something good came from it in that world but yeah they all died so but
1:51
we all had a great deal of fun getting there and let's see anyway and then we
2:04
we came back I think in mid-february and so that was you know and then had a lot
2:17
more people as the weeks went on and the vaccines rolled out and so that was kind
2:22
of you know the year and it was a it was an interesting year you know obviously a
2:29
lot of zoom stuff and discord stuff I think it helped give us this kind of a
2:35
new way of connecting with each other not in person so I think that was pretty
2:39
good you know using discord to post things and if we had have to have
2:45
meetings we can do it on zoom needs for now so that really got us comfortable
2:52
with having a an online presence for the school because you know before it was
2:58
sort of like I mean it's still a little hard with some of the younger ones but
3:02
seemed a lot harder to to get all that going don't know what will happen with
3:07
it in the long term but I think it's pretty you know great it was it was
3:14
great to have this feeling that our community is you know stayed together
3:19
through all this people really stuck it out with all of us and yeah and yeah so
3:42
that was that yeah what else yeah we got we got this tent here that was all all
3:53
pretty cool and good and I don't know one of the worst aspects of this whole
4:04
year was the whole needing to stay away from each other just does not work out
4:09
well with young kids that's not what they want to do the masks wasn't so much
4:13
of a big problem but the but the social distancing that was hard so yeah that's
4:32
well that's what I've got to say about this year I was really impressed with
4:40
how so much of you know the school meetings and JC being under the tent and
4:46
you know there's noise there's there was a cold there was the hot there was the
4:52
rain there was the caters there was construction I mean so much and our
4:59
students just really embraced their roles I mean it's not like they were
5:05
happy about all those things but they were like this is what we do and we do
5:09
it like just sticking through it it wasn't like we had to like ill could
5:15
Joel or even say anything like they just did it right and we noticed it
5:21
particularly because sometimes we'd have visiting students who you know would
5:26
complain like they just didn't have you know I mean they're visiting students
5:31
they didn't have the commitment to the school they didn't have the framework
5:35
and you just it's just so illustrates the difference of being a part of this
5:42
community so I felt that was pretty wondrous to see and it was really also
5:48
really nice all the help that we had with like raising the tent all the
5:52
meetings we had everything that you know went well this year you know just
6:02
everybody coming together and it's gonna be really great once we're all done with
6:07
everything hopefully this summer we can roll it all back so I guess that's what
6:12
I have to say and I also hope to think that some of my podcast gave us a little
6:17
wonder but guess we'll see so I'll see you when I see you
