0:00 Welcome to ANI in the air under the tent and around Baltimore your daily
0:05 podcast briefing of all the goings ons ins and arounds arts and ideas at Sudbury
0:08 School. So today is another rainy day. I think I might have had a little bit of a
0:19 more quiet day today than usual but yeah it was a pleasant day I had the
0:31 opportunity to actually pick up the field for the mowing which I don't know
0:35 what's going to happen this weekend because of the rain but the field is
0:38 ready to go and and the field needs mowing oh boy it's been you know two
0:46 weeks and it's well I guess lots of rain and lots of Sun hey finally we did get a
0:55 respite from the cicadas so the outside is beautiful the gaga pit is renamed
1:00 Lake Gaga because it is full of water which will disappear over time of course
1:08 yeah there was there have been you know people coming out for whatever reason
1:15 but generally a fairly minimal presence outside the day and there was no JC
1:24 because there was no cases which was fortunate because yeah would have been
1:29 tricky and let's see I was in a bit of a staff meeting for a while today and we
1:38 have a couple of end-of-week meetings today for missions and then next week is
1:44 our last week and it looks like we're gonna have three families of visiting
1:49 students and we still continue to get emails about people enrolling for next
1:54 year so I mean we're done with with doing visiting weeks this year for
2:00 anyone newly emailing us but interest is strong so that's exciting
2:08 let's see as you can probably guess from the fact that I am talking to you my my
2:15 computer actually did survive the the rain and the floods and the torrential
2:20 downpours and the lightning and all that yesterday it's a tough little computer
2:25 you go a little computer yep I didn't even have to do the the electronics in a
2:33 rice bag which would have been awkward with a computer and I don't actually
2:36 think it works but it sounds so cool anyway yeah I guess that's you know not
2:47 too much to report from what I've seen today yeah I'm just kind of a lots of
2:57 talking going on all over the place kind of yeah quiet talking and I haven't
3:04 really even seen much running around on the inside it was a bit of a mess in the
3:08 dining room you know I cleaned up think of sugar all over the place or something
3:15 it was sugar didn't really look like salt but I don't really know and yeah
3:24 that's kind of the day so it's farewell Friday this is this the third to last
3:31 farewell Friday presumably I presume I'll do one on the end of the the end of
3:38 school day but yeah it was a good week it's really hot in the beginning with
3:48 very loud cicadas and now it's cold and wet right now you know it was a nice
3:57 nice strong week I do think there's a little bit of more energy starting to
4:05 see as we get towards the end of the year so that's interesting and yeah we
4:12 just have two more weeks of school yeah next Thursday we're having the beach
4:18 field trip and on so on Friday we're gonna do the article club we've got our
4:24 school meeting as usual next Tuesday JC obviously all the time Monday
4:31 announcements on Monday so yeah but slowly the year is going to start
4:39 winding down and then I guess we'll have to see about summer meetings for dealing
4:49 with any vestiges of this pandemic and how we want to proceed with that and then
4:54 we'll be back in school in a very short time so I think next week I'm going to
4:59 talk about boredom as a theme so that'll be exciting or maybe boring I haven't
5:06 quite decided how to play that can you be excited about boredom I don't know
5:10 I'm pretty excited about boredom I really love boredom it's it's a pretty
5:13 rare quantity for me and for a lot of people around here but when it happens
5:18 it's pretty awesome and yeah and then the the final week will be a kind of a
5:25 meta week I think which would be kind of fun and twisty and the end of the
5:30 podcast all right well you guys all have a good one I'm gonna enjoy it out here
5:35 under the tent it's just a mild rain today nothing too crazy but it is
5:40 raining all day so there is that I've got my my poncho on this little black
5:48 almost garbage bag looking thing that I've had since the mid 90s so it's a
5:55 good piece of equipment to have I can fold up compactly it's a great one and I
6:02 just saw some chickens flying very far off the wall man they are excited to be
6:07 out in the field and going around finding whatever they can find all this
6:13 juicy waterness yeah pretty good pickins out here all right you know I have a
6:21 good one and I will see you when I see you
