Welcome to ANI In The Air, Under The Tent, and around both my updated podcasts briefing
0:05
of all the goings ons, ins and arounds, arts and ideas set by school.
0:08
So today, it's a nice day, a little hot and sticky, but just as I'm recording this, we
0:14
are getting a little bit of thunderstorms, a little bit of lightning, some rain, it's
0:18
starting to cool down around here, so that's pretty nice.
0:23
We did finish school meeting before the storms happened, so that was nice, and we got through
0:29
a lot of items in school meeting today.
0:31
We also did JC, we elected a new JC clerk, who actually run JC, who did run JC earlier
0:38
in the day, and I think will be fantastic, the new clerk, they've done it before, a while
0:44
ago, and so let's see how this goes.
0:49
Yeah, so most of my day was consumed with JC and school meeting.
0:57
I put on there a number of items, really changing how we deal with some clerk elections, adding
1:07
in a tour clerk, to give tours for visiting students and so forth, and also modifying
1:23
the referral process to school meetings, so that includes a summary of what the JC team
1:28
thought about the whole thing, I think that will be very beneficial to school meeting
1:32
referrals and making sure everyone is there.
1:35
We basically had a problem with the findings, it would be kind of long, people wouldn't
1:39
follow along, it's basically almost like not having findings and people trying to figure
1:44
out what's going on, and almost redoing the findings, and then people would argue about
1:48
that, so hopefully this would just like, here's what we really think happened, if everyone
1:54
accepts it, we move on and we figure out an appropriate action for it, and if need be
1:59
we go back to the findings, but that's still an option, but you know, ideally we don't,
2:06
right?
2:07
But we'll see how it goes, that's the theory, we'll see about the practice.
2:17
And then we also changed the year long clerkship elections to be a monthly thing, and so we'll
2:26
see how that goes, and yeah, so I guess that's what I have to say about that.
2:40
Alright, let's see, what else, oh yes, I did a Talk About Tuesday podcast on screen time,
2:49
because it's computer week for me, so there's that, and I think that's probably all I got
3:00
to say today, still saw some people going to the snowball stand today, and cicadas are
3:09
still going really loud, I feel like it's a little diminished today, yesterday we got
3:14
up to 87 decibels, today when I've been looking at it, it's like 82 decibels or something,
3:21
so you know, and I've been under the tent for two or three hours now, and I haven't
3:29
really been landed on by cicadas, although I have seen one cicada land on school meeting
3:38
clerk's computer on the keyboard, tried to type some stuff out, change our minutes, the
3:44
clerk said no, you are out of order, and the cicada flew away, that may be apocryphal that
3:50
last bit, but whatever, there was also a cicada who wanted to get into the noise action, really
3:57
amplify its noise, and landed underneath the microphone, but the cicada was flicked off
4:07
before it could implement the massive noise making, it would have been actually kind of
4:15
interesting, but alas, did not happen.
4:19
Alright and I just also want to just do a shout out of a thank you to the school meeting
4:25
members, it was kind of hot and muggy out here, as well as loud with cicadas, so I really
4:30
appreciate everyone sticking through it, it was a lot of stuff, pleasant stuff but a lot
4:36
of stuff nonetheless, and so yeah, that is pretty much all I have to say about that.
4:45
Again, check out the Talk About Tuesday for some thoughts on screen time.
4:50
Thanks all, see you when I see ya.
