0:00 Welcome to ANI In the Air, Under the Tent and Around Baltimore, your daily podcast briefing of all the goings ons, ins and arounds, arts and ideas, Sudbury School.
0:08 So, today was another beautiful day out here under the tent.
0:14 We missed the morning because I had another admissions interview. We are still going like crazy.
0:21 We're kind of at the point where anybody knew, we're kind of saying, "Well, we're going to have to deal with it later in the fall."
0:30 I think we're pretty much at our limit, so that's pretty good.
0:37 Hopefully in the fall we'll have a good strong start with any luck, not having to worry too much more about this pandemic stuff.
0:46 Fingers crossed. But it's looking pretty good.
0:51 I was looking at the numbers today. It's like 1% positivity rate. Maybe like 3 new cases in the city.
1:00 And almost like no deaths from COVID now. So, we've really turned a corner and it's wonderful and amazing.
1:10 Let's see. Yeah, so I don't know what happened in JC. I imagine it was a fine thing as always.
1:20 We did have school meeting where we did change some things for JC Clerk. Namely, JC Clerk would no longer be able to vote.
1:32 So, instead we'll just rely on the team more.
1:41 We've kind of added another person to the minimum of the team to make sure there's enough people voting.
1:48 The idea was essentially, well, one side of it was the JC Clerk could have too much power by doing that.
1:55 I don't really like that because I don't think JC Clerks have used it or anything.
2:00 But I do think that a lot of times the weight of it falls on the Clerk to keep it moving when it should really be the team that's making motions and moving forward.
2:14 It passed and so we'll see how it goes. Still need to find a JC Clerk for the rest of the month.
2:23 I guess it's good to have this change before we get a new one so we can mention that when we ask for JC Clerk.
2:32 And then, I guess all the staff passed for the staff election returning, which is good.
2:49 What else? There's also a beach trip got funded today in school meetings so hopefully that will get the word out for one day or another.
3:05 And then, let's see, yeah, really gorgeous day out here. The snowball stand continues to be popular.
3:19 What else? Yeah, I guess the yearbook is nearly off to the printers so that's pretty exciting.
3:31 There's another fantastic yearbook. I was just looking at some of the older yearbooks and remarking on how nice and wonderful it is.
3:39 In the moment, I tend not to appreciate it as much but certainly having something to look back and be like "Oh yeah!" is kind of cool.
3:49 Anyway, and of course as I'm looking at it or whatever and thinking about my yearbook picture for this year, I was like "Oh, I could have done this!" Oh well.
4:01 Anyway, I had the idea of, this is not what I did, what I did was just a very simple photo of me and my friend Chuckles the Snowman in front of my house when we were all online.
4:17 But my idea was to do a 1980s computer, green text, black background, and just do a little zoom shot in that. I think that would have been cool.
4:35 Would have been a good marker of that. Wouldn't be funny. But anyway, such as it is. Anyway, I guess that's about it.
4:47 I guess I never actually, because I was out last week, I never mentioned that we did have the thesis panel last week and all the graduates defended it and as far as I know all of them had a great time with good feedback.
5:02 And certainly I did get a chance to talk with the panel afterwards and they all were impressed and over the moon with all of our graduates.
5:09 So a good time I think was had by all and it's a really great process and really loving the fact that it's not a yes or no thing but just really genuine feedback.
5:20 Which is pretty much, you know, the most useful thing to really get.
5:30 Anyway, so that's Wondrous Wednesday. I mean, that's Wondrous Wednesday which I made a recording of already and it was basically on the wonder of kids making decisions here at school.
5:49 Simply because that's what they did yesterday for the staff. So I think that's just fantastically wondrous.
5:57 all right uh you all have a good one and i will see you when i see you
