0:00 Welcome to ANI In The Air, Under The Tent, and Around Baltimore, your daily podcast briefing
0:05 of all the goings ons, ins and arounds, arts and ideas at Mary School.
0:09 So today was a pretty beautiful day.
0:11 It was actually a little, slightly cold under the tent, a little bit of wind, but quite
0:18 warm in the sun.
0:21 Looks like some students have chosen to use the dappled shade of our artsy umbrella in
0:30 the middle of the field, so that's kind of cool to see.
0:34 There was some more Gaga Ball playing today.
0:40 Had a nice JC run by a student today, was trying it for the very first time, and hopefully
0:49 we'll be happy to continue, it sounded like it went well.
0:57 And we had Article Club, a little post-modernist piece that was actually a pretty challenging
1:07 read and quite a philosophical conversation.
1:13 So that was kind of fun.
1:24 So then, what else, I don't know, I feel like I've been in meetings all day long, but it
1:33 seemed like everybody was having a great time.
1:35 Lots of eating outside, lots of talking, we had a couple of students who have come in
1:43 from online and come today for the first time in a long time, and earlier in the week we
1:50 had another couple that came in from being online, and yeah, so our numbers of in person
1:59 are, well, seeing people we haven't seen in over a year, it's kind of nice.
2:08 We are people who are obeying our medical policies, so they're self-quarantined after
2:16 some travel or some other kind of COVID questionable scenario, so we appreciate that, but we are
2:28 sad to not have them here in person, but of course it's just a short quarantine.
2:37 So no COVID cases are at all reported to us, so don't mean to alarm that.
2:50 What else, yeah, our blossoming trees along the Walther Avenue are slowly losing their
3:00 flowers and becoming green-leaved.
3:02 That's fun to watch, I guess that's about it.
3:09 So it's Thursday, so tip of the week Thursday, let's say that you have a little balcony,
3:20 shall we say, just a random example with awning going over it and maybe an iron railing, and
3:27 maybe you'd like to have that screened in.
3:29 Now the proper way of doing that is probably with some kind of wood structures and some
3:36 window meshing and nice rigid and all well done and way beyond what I'd prefer to do,
3:49 but you could also just get some gazebo mosquito meshing and attach it to the frame and see
3:57 how it goes.
3:58 That's what I did over the weekend.
3:59 So far it's holding up, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when we get a storm
4:04 of wind, the wind is picking up, it's getting excited to try to tear it all down.
4:09 I guess we'll see, I'm hoping because it's netting that the wind will kind of mostly
4:14 whistle through it and not be too strong on it, but it's been, well, I mean sitting out
4:22 here under the tent I don't have any bug problems right now, but I am anticipating that this
4:28 will be a great thing, particularly when those cicadas come out.
4:31 I'm not particularly fond of having cicadas all over my balcony, probably have a lot over
4:37 my yard, I've got a number of trees and, or used to have a number of trees, so we'll see
4:45 how all that goes, but anyway.
4:50 And as I think I mentioned in a previous podcast, I will not be doing a podcast tomorrow, it's
4:58 my birthday, and so I take the day off, and I take a 24 hour period of both silence and
5:10 fasting.
5:11 It's exciting.
5:13 So I will say farewell for the week to you now, it was a good week in terms of the weather,
5:21 and the chickens love to get out and strut about, looking at one right now, oh chickens,
5:29 and yeah, just excited to see springtime arriving and lots of activity out in the field, and
5:40 yeah, well, I guess that's about it, I've rambled enough, have a great one, and I will
5:47 see you when I see you... hopefully Monday.
