0:00 Welcome to ANI, In The Air, Under The Sky, On The Porch, and Around Baltimore, your daily
0:07 podcast briefing of all the goings ons and the rounds that are coming to you at Sudbury
0:10 School.
0:11 So today was kind of a bit of a rainy, wet day, so I'm under the porch in the chicken
0:17 courtyard.
0:18 The chickens are happily digging into the wet ground, and let's see, today we had Article
0:28 Club, where we talked about just whatever articles we brought, want to bring together.
0:34 That was fun.
0:38 And next week there'll be a video that we'll all talk about, it's posted in Discord.
0:45 I think it's something about psychology of mobs and cancer culture, sounds interesting.
0:54 So let's see, the big headline item of today is the assembly meeting tonight.
1:02 If you can, please come out for assembly.
1:07 We will be reviewing the, doing our usual reviews of COVID and finances and our admissions
1:16 where we're all at with everything, so that everybody can have a good picture of where
1:21 we are, typically we don't do this most years, but we figure this is less of a stable year,
1:31 so we like to keep, you know, keep everybody informed about what's actually happening.
1:36 There is a motion on the, that was tabled, and that we'll talk about, about whether or
1:41 not to keep the school open for in-person, even if the numbers go above the thresholds
1:53 that we had agreed upon in the summer, now that the staff are all vaccinated.
1:58 We'll be kind of in the fully vaccinated state in about two weeks from now, although three
2:04 of us will be so at the end of next week.
2:08 So yeah, so that's what we'll be talking about.
2:15 The COVID numbers are higher than, you know, they were before.
2:23 They're getting close to the threshold, so it is something that might actually matter.
2:28 I still haven't heard anyone actually talking about it, so I'm a little confused still,
2:33 but hey, whatever.
2:37 We'll talk about it tonight, and we'll find out, you know, how it goes.
2:43 What else, oh yes, I saw some students playing with bats and tennis balls out in the wet
2:52 field today.
2:53 That was kind of cool, and you know, eating outside, we've kind of somewhat done by being
3:01 right outside of doors where we have some shelter, but it's definitely much more difficult.
3:08 It was actually, it's just periods of rain here and there, so I think people have gone
3:12 all out when it's not been raining to go and eat, in addition to eating in our dining room.
3:20 All right, yeah, I think that's mostly what I have to talk about.
3:29 Yeah, all right, and hopefully we are having our boiler guy came today in the basement.
3:41 Hopefully this will be the end of it, or very near so, so looking forward to that being
3:49 done, and yeah, all right, okay.
3:58 Tip of the week Thursday, good tip of the week Thursday, I'm just going to go with that,
4:08 you know, you don't always have to use an umbrella when it rains, you can wear something
4:12 like a poncho that will cover you and keep you dry.
4:16 I personally never use an umbrella, I've only occasionally actually use a poncho, generally
4:23 can time things that don't involve being in the rain, or I'm in a situation where I can
4:30 just be wet, which is always nice.
4:33 But yeah, I have a little bit of claustrophobia, so slipping one over my head is a little bit
4:40 of a, hold my breath, but I really like the fact that it can cover my backpack, and jacket
4:49 and clothes and everything, and it's just a very effective covering, and it doesn't
4:55 poke anyone's eyes out, unlike an umbrella.
4:58 So you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of umbrellas, I had one when I was young, and it broke,
5:06 and I vowed never to use an umbrella again, and that was a silly vow, but at this point
5:14 I'm not really going to break it, I only broke it once, when there was someone who was really
5:25 kind of concerned about it all, about my not having an umbrella in the rain, so I decided
5:32 to placate them.
5:33 But I kind of just held it to the side so I still got wet, I don't know if that really
5:45 counts, but anyway.
5:46 You have all a good one, and I will see you when I see you, hopefully at assembly tonight,
5:52 7pm on Zoom, thank you, bye bye.
