Welcome to ANI, in the air, online, and around Baltimore, your daily podcast briefing of
0:06
all the goings-ons, ins and arounds, arts and ideas, and very school.
0:12
So today is Wednesday, which meant that I recorded a wondrous Wednesday.
0:21
This time a few words on the origin of life.
0:27
So you can check that out, got a little long-winded towards the end, but, and I forgot to actually
0:34
mention one of my favorite authors for reading about this stuff, Richard Dawkins, and in
0:43
one of his books, The Blind Watchmaker, or The Selfish Gene, I think one of those two,
0:52
he had mentioned a cool process involving clay and the origin of life.
1:00
But it was a long, maybe like 15 years ago when I read it.
1:04
So I don't actually remember what he said about it, but it was cool stuff.
1:11
Anyway, so yeah, you can check out the wondrous Wednesday to learn more about that.
1:17
Now what happened today in our little world, well, let's see, I did my amazing tales, which
1:32
was kind of a storytelling RPG, very light.
1:38
Just kind of had one student show up, I don't know, it's kind of hard to get this thing
1:42
started, I'm not sure if I will continue, but it was fun.
1:48
I mean, it's basically come up with a setting, a character, a story, roll some dice, and
1:57
see what happens.
2:02
Also continuing on with a more heavy role-playing game experience in the afternoon, I think
2:12
that group is working out well, having some adventures, we'll see how well it goes.
2:23
There was also, I believe, a Minecraft hangout in the afternoon.
2:30
And then there was also a makeup session by Ashley as well.
2:38
So some cool stuff going on.
2:42
I think there are some pictures on Discord about the makeup, you should check that out.
2:52
Tomorrow, Thursday, there'll be Article Club at one, it's about kind of firefighters trying
3:02
to do their job in the city of Tripoli in Libya, kind of after the revolution and the
3:16
more or less essential, you know, the lack of much governmental presence and the rise
3:26
of militias to fill that need and sort of these firefighters trying to do their job
3:33
in the midst of basically a lot of armed conflict going on.
3:38
So that's cool, now that'll be at one o'clock at 3 p.m., I believe Ashley is going to talk
3:46
about Kwanzaa, which is, you know, a winter holiday.
3:54
It's pretty cool to learn and find out about, so go check that out at three o'clock today.
4:04
Again, look on Discord for what voice channel it will be in.
4:10
And let's see, I believe there's also going to be photos, so hanging out on the field
4:19
today, I'm not, I guess I should probably check out what that time is, probably eleven
4:29
or noon or something or other, tomorrow from eleven to two.
4:42
So yeah, so if you want to spend some time outside at our field, you can buy from eleven
4:57
to two and the carriage house will be open for use of bathroom, but otherwise, you know,
5:03
the building is off limits.
5:07
So lots of cool stuff going on, and that's basically where we're at.
5:17
I should also, I don't think I mentioned this before, but there was some folder reorganization
5:25
done on Discord, so hopefully the text channels are a little bit easier to navigate.
5:34
There's sort of the more formal aspects of Discord, such as school meeting chat, on a
5:44
text channel, and then there's kind of activities, the various clubs and so forth, like Article
5:50
Club, Creative Writing Club, Minecraft, you know, all that good stuff.
5:56
And then there's kind of the more personal and fun stuff, and then alumni channels.
6:03
So if Discord was a little overwhelming before, maybe you can check it out now and see how
6:13
that goes.
6:15
All right, I think that's all for now.
6:19
Hope you have a good day and talk to you all later.
6:25
Bye bye.
