0:00 Welcome to ANI in the air online and around Baltimore daily podcast briefing of the goings-on ends and arounds at very arts and ideas survey school
0:09 so today we had
0:13 school meeting
0:14 Which was pretty short just?
0:16 Basically some announcements
0:20 You know, there'll be the field day
0:24 On Wednesday
0:28 and from I believe 11 to 2 so it's just like last week on Wednesday and then
0:34 You know, they'll be a creative writing meeting on Monday
0:39 We are closed officially from Wednesday to Friday
0:43 for Thanksgiving break although
0:46 What that entirely means in this context is unclear
0:49 But I mean people can use discord whenever they want and connect with whoever they want whenever they want
0:56 but I certainly will be
0:58 not doing my podcasts and
1:01 Know that I might do some programming of avocado. I hope to do that. We'll see
1:08 We also had the assembly meeting last night
1:13 Well, yeah, I guess so. I am recording this in the morning night after cuz
1:19 assembly went late, but
1:24 We basically talked about the school's finances and
1:29 The staff had
1:34 particularly me had two proposals about sort of a
1:37 if we drop below a certain level in our savings staff salaries get you know, shut to zero and
1:43 Another one wants to use the emergency funds for to pay for the boilers
1:53 So
1:55 You know that was
1:57 Kind of you know
1:59 just sort of a minimal thing that we needed to do and then
2:02 The parent decided after hearing about our finances and discussing decided to say, you know, what? Why don't we set the
2:10 Tuition to 400 a month for being online. So this is raising
2:18 what's expected of people who are online and
2:22 Lowering that of those who were in person. I think it makes some sense
2:26 By being fully online the people who were online now have a much richer
2:32 Community focused on you know online needs. I mean they were still connected before but
2:39 Now there's a lot more possibilities and potentials
2:44 That's what we got. That's all we got. So their value is going up
2:51 Whereas the people who are in person, you know, they lose a lot of not being in person
2:55 but that number also happens to be
2:59 The
3:03 Number that if all of our students did represent $400 a month then we would we would be financially fine
3:11 So, we'll see if we can
3:15 Achieve that I
3:21 Don't know hopefully we can but it was a very good supportive conversation
3:27 Appreciated everyone who came out for that
3:29 It was really nice and useful
3:34 All right, so we are closed for the next few days so you will hear from me again on one day I hope
3:42 Talk to you later. Bye. Bye. Oh
3:45 Wait
3:48 Before I go I should also mention there was talk about Tuesday. I recorded that
3:52 Basically was inspired by I thought I had during the assembly meeting
3:56 Namely that you know
4:00 students can make the
4:02 The best of what they got and that's really a large part of what the school is
4:06 You dropped in to this community. You've got resources. You got people and you got to figure out what to do and
4:13 Online is still roughly that stroke. It's just
4:19 It's a little harder to see people. It's a little harder to
4:22 you know do things like play with sticks with other people in community, but
4:27 It is what it is
4:31 So anyway, that's uh, that's what I talked about
4:34 Talk about Tuesday podcast. All right. Um, have a good
4:39 Have a good five days, I guess
