0:00 - Welcome to Arts and Ideas in the Air,
0:03 online and around Baltimore.
0:05 Your daily podcast briefing of all the things going on
0:09 in and around Arts and Ideas, Sudbury School.
0:13 All right, so today is Thursday.
0:19 So tip of the week Thursday is coming up.
0:22 And yeah.
0:30 So, what happened today?
0:34 Well, there was a bedrock Minecraft event
0:39 in the morning for the early risers.
0:42 Then that looked like a number of students went to that.
0:49 Had some fun.
0:50 I saw a bit of it from Phil's perspective.
0:53 Phil was streaming.
0:56 Not sure what he was building,
0:59 but he was building something tall.
1:01 I know really nothing about Minecraft, but so it goes.
1:06 And then I ran an amazing tales session.
1:12 I think that went well.
1:16 It's just really making up a story
1:18 and having some challenges and rolling some dice
1:21 and resolving it pretty quick.
1:23 Went through kind of two stories in about 40 minutes.
1:28 So that was kind of cool.
1:29 One was set in space and one was set on Antarctica.
1:34 So that was all neat.
1:36 And then there was Article Club
1:39 where we talked about why there aren't flying cars.
1:42 And so that was kind of nice.
1:47 And I think that was kind of all that I'm privy to.
1:53 I'd love to get more info
1:58 about what people might be doing.
2:03 It does sound like a lot of Minecraft might be going on
2:06 touching with Discord.
2:08 And so, yeah.
2:13 So that's what's been going on.
2:18 So tip of the week Thursday.
2:24 Well, I think my tip might be related to doing podcasts.
2:29 There is something to be said
2:30 about not having a regular podcast.
2:33 So when you do something very regularly,
2:35 you have to kind of keep on doing it.
2:37 You get into a rhythm.
2:38 So it's nice that you get into rhythm.
2:39 So you keep on doing it.
2:41 But then when you feel like, hmm, not doing it,
2:44 then it becomes a little bit more noticeable
2:49 that you're not doing it.
2:50 So I am kind of finding it a lot harder to get motivated
2:55 to do the podcast right now.
2:57 You know, again, it's sort of like,
3:01 it's a lot harder to see what's happening in the community
3:06 and therefore kind of tell everyone.
3:09 Yeah, it's just kind of a hard time.
3:14 Everybody's got their own kind of networks, I think,
3:18 and connecting in various ways.
3:21 But it's really hard to just kind of say too much
3:26 about what's going on.
3:28 So yeah, that's my tip of the week.
3:33 Regularity of doing something helps you keep doing it,
3:40 but it also makes it much harder to stop.
3:46 I mean, it's kind of two sides of the same coin.
3:49 And I guess, you know,
3:53 for people who are not doing things regularly,
3:56 it's nice to think of that, well, you know,
3:58 that's a nice bonus, right?
3:59 That you don't, that you can just, you know,
4:02 if you don't feel like doing something, you don't do it.
4:05 All right, well, I feel like this was a bit of a downer
4:08 of a podcast episode, but there you have it.
4:14 Tomorrow, I plan on doing some more role-playing.
4:18 I might have some new people joining that,
4:20 and I'm not sure if there's anything else that's planned,
4:25 but yeah, tomorrow's the last day
4:28 of our first full online week.
4:32 I hope all of you have been connecting up with people
4:35 and having a great time figuring out stuff to do.
4:38 Gotta keep the spirits up.
4:41 All right, well, talk to you all later.
4:43 Bye bye.
