So today, it's a beautiful day out here under the tent, on the field, just generally outside.
0:21
One notable thing today is that the slack line has been temporarily fixed.
0:31
We've restricted it to one person at a time because it's not perhaps quite as sewn together as before.
0:44
But it should be quite stable.
0:56
Sorry, I was just distracted by people on the slack line.
1:01
It should be one at a time, but yeah, seems to be working.
1:06
We had a case today in JC about the computer assignment rule.
1:12
It got dropped, but it does point out a little bit of need of modification, so hopefully on school meeting next week we will be able to do that.
1:22
I'm kind of thinking about modifying the system so people can give up their computer and sign up for any free computer and having it happen like that.
1:34
Right now people get randomly assigned a computer and they can kind of say, "Oh, I don't want it," but we don't have a way to actually record that.
1:42
It would be good to record that.
1:46
And let's see, what else? Oh, we had a fire drill today.
1:50
That was fun, always good on the ears.
1:53
It went pretty well.
1:55
One new young student didn't quite come out in as timely a manner as we would have liked, but that's why we practice.
2:06
We also discovered that the automatic hand dispensers for hand sanitizing and a couple of our soap dispensers were being triggered by the flashing fire alarm.
2:19
So that was interesting to witness.
2:25
Most of them seemed to not. There just seemed to be a couple of the ones that were in dark rooms very near the flashing light.
2:35
Understandably so. They're based on changing light patterns.
2:41
Oh, what else today?
2:47
Picked up another bag of trash from the surrounding area.
2:51
Seems like once a week I can walk along the median strip and pick up some trash.
3:00
And what else?
3:05
Not really sure. A lot of people hanging out today on the field because it is so nice.
3:10
Next week we are anticipating taking down the tent.
3:17
And it would be sad to see it go, but honestly, you know, most people are choosing to sit not under the tent.
3:27
So, you know, it's kind of cooler now and so it goes.
3:38
And next week, we'll talk about it more next week, but be a bit of some changes, I suppose.
3:52
But we will be having Article Club on Thursday at eleven. And this time it's the tragedy of droids.
4:00
So it's by the pop culture detective. I'm not sure if it's been posted in Discord or not yet. I should double check that.
4:08
But basically, it's kind of looking at how droids are treated in the Star Wars universe and, you know, kind of what they're symbolizing in that universe.
4:19
And then kind of the odd treatment by the writers in relation to that.
4:27
So it'll be a fun little discussion.
4:33
Yesterday, we did discuss the abortion video.
4:38
And that's right. Article Club has actually been moved to Thursday at one p.m.
4:47
That's right, because too many of us were having issues with an eleven o'clock thing with, you know, JC 1130 and some other things that happen early on in the day.
4:59
So hopefully one o'clock will be a better time for participation.
5:04
All right. Well, let's see, it's farewell Friday, so.
5:10
Fairly well. This is episode number 42. So 42 Friday.
5:17
Forty two is a great special number. If you don't know about it, read some Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
5:25
It's always good. This number that people in the kind of geeky world of sci fi people like to say.
5:35
Forty two. Nothing actually special about it.
5:38
Story goes that Douglas Adams remembers there being a really, really funny joke.
5:45
That made the number 42 really funny, but then you can't remember.
5:53
You couldn't remember the joke. And so you kind of wrote that in the story where, you know, you come up with the answer to life, the universe and everything.
6:07
And it's 42. And it's like, wait, what? What was the question? It's a really good bit.
6:14
Sorry for spoiling it, but maybe you'll read it. There's a lot of good bits in there.
6:21
All right. Well, I guess that's it. We had a good week here.
6:29
A little bit windy in the beginning and kind of calm, kind of quiet week.
6:37
I guess we had we had the Halloween celebration. That was nice to see some people.
6:43
We had the fire pit going on that day and fire pit seems to be already destroyed.
6:49
Kind of makes me sad. And.
6:54
Yeah, I don't know. It's a fine week. The week.
7:00
The first week of November. And now it's done.
7:06
Well, you all have a good weekend and I'll talk to you later.
