0:00 Welcome to ANI In the Air Under the Tent and Around Baltimore. This is your daily
0:05 podcast of the goings-ons here at Arts and Ideas the Sudbury School. So today we
0:11 had no JC but we did have a 12 to 15 year old check-in meeting where we you
0:20 know basically went over some of the challenges that 12 to 15 year olds might
0:26 face here at ANI and what they might you know want to do about it. You know we had
0:33 some good conversations some people mentioned what they loved about the
0:38 school basically their ability to dive deep be free not be pressured you know
0:45 really explore what they're into take on projects that kind of good stuff.
0:52 Students also expressed you know this like oh should I go to a more
0:56 conventional school which is a very strong pull in that age group and
1:03 hopefully they will resolve to stay with us understanding the kind of hollow
1:07 promise that the conventional school might offer in comparison to the very
1:13 full and rich promise of you know them living their lives here so we shall see.
1:20 It was a nice conversation not surprisingly many were reluctant to
1:24 speak and that's fine we don't force people to speak but fortunately we had a
1:29 number of students who did so that was good. It's been a fairly quiet day it's
1:36 very warm and pleasant I'm under a different tent today because under the
1:42 big tent they are watching well they're watching something maybe a demon Slayer
1:50 or something I don't know it seems to be great fun and well at least they're not
2:00 inside right okay I also did my wondrous Wednesday broadcast that was on what it
2:08 means for the speed of light to be constant which it is and hopefully I can
2:13 develop a couple more lines of thought along those ways in the upcoming weeks.
2:21 So yeah we got wind today can you hear that I'm curious you can hear that and
2:28 we got a lot of wind I'm under a good tent for wind noise it's creaky it's a
2:32 small little tent to the corner we'll see we'll see how it goes but yeah we
2:44 also had a history class I believe it's like the old Western Cowboys and stuff
2:50 for the bicycle you know relating to the bicycle let's see not sure what might
3:00 happen tomorrow but on Friday we've got article Club involving a discussion on
3:06 environmental issues so a couple videos to watch on climate change the
3:14 challenges of that and sort of possible different perspectives one might need to
3:19 adopt to deal with it so hopefully that'll be a good and lively discussion.
3:26 All right well I think that's about it for today have a great one and see y'all
3:32 later.
