0:00 Welcome to Arts and Ideas in the Air, Under the Tent, and Around Baltimore, your daily podcast briefing of all the goings-ons in and around Arts and Ideas Sudbury School.
0:11 Let's see, today we had Article Club at 11, where we talked about the anti-Lord of the Flies story.
0:20 Several boys had gotten stranded on an island for 15 months, and they lived quite happily and peacefully.
0:28 That article was fun. It was an excerpt from a book called Humankind by Rutger Bregman.
0:34 I've read the book. I thought it was really nice and uplifting. It really talks about people being cooperating with each other.
0:42 There was also the first Art Corporation meeting of the year. A new director and secretary were elected.
0:51 It sounds like there's quite a bit of desire to get some cool art stuff, so hopefully in school meeting we'll have a budget discussion and then we'll start getting some art stuff people want.
1:07 Let's see, we also have a roller, rolling chair roller coaster going on around here, coming down the ramp and across the parking lot.
1:21 Sort of a four-chair, I don't know what the word is, procession? Procession. I'll go with procession.
1:32 Alrighty, some beautiful weather around here today. I actually got to be outside for quite a bit, so that was nice.
1:40 I did have to be inside for a little check-up meeting with someone in the family that will be doing a visiting week next week.
1:48 So this week we didn't have any visitors, although assembly last week did approve it. It was a little too short notice for people.
1:57 And so next week we'll be actually having two visiting students and we're looking forward to getting that done.
2:07 Alright, this is farewell Friday, so I hope this was a great week for all of you. We had our first check-in of the year, meeting the 16+.
2:28 I hope that went well for everyone who attended. I thought it was kind of nice, a nice discussion of graduation and all that.
2:36 We also dealt with our year-long clerkship, so all that has straightened out.
2:43 And let's see, next week we'll be doing the 12-15 year check-in. I'll be running that one, so that'll be fun.
2:54 And let's see, what else? Oh, we also got the round net, so hoping to see some action there. We got some Gaga Pit action going on.
3:09 And we also moved around the computers a little to try and balance things out and maintain proper spacing and all that while meeting all the needs of the computer people.
3:23 We also implemented our random daily assignment of computers for those who are interested.
3:29 I think it's working out fine. You know, people don't get always what they want, but eventually they do.
3:39 And hopefully we have enough computers that they get something useful.
3:44 Alrighty, so that is all I have for today. You have a great weekend, looking forward to seeing you on Monday.
3:55 Monday, I imagine there'll be a discussion of the history class. I think the topic was on rubber, so that sounds fun.
4:08 And yeah, I guess we'll see how next week goes. The first full week of October next week, as we rush into the new month.
