0:00 Okay welcome to ANI in the air under the tent and around Baltimore. This is your
0:06 daily podcast of the goings-ons at Arts and Ideas. I have recorded Wondrous
0:11 Wednesday as a separate piece so you can check the listing for that. It's sort of
0:21 a bit of a resolution of the double slit experiment so hope you enjoy that. Today
0:27 we had another JC which was kind of nice. There was some disruption of JC in
0:38 school meeting case that went well. Unfortunately those online couldn't hear
0:42 it because I forgot to actually enter the discord, you know, voice channel so
0:50 that was bad on me. But the other two cases could be heard and that was a mass
0:56 case and a keyboard of mice case. Pretty straightforward, it's nice to see JC
1:04 starting to operate in a more customary fashion. I think the JC team list is
1:10 actually kind of working out well. We had somebody who was taking an online day at
1:15 home so we just kind of fell down the list and somebody else who wanted a sub
1:19 and so some of the team has now completed their service, other members of
1:24 the team have not and it's just all gonna fluctuate just very nicely. So
1:28 everyone gets to serve four times regardless. So I'm pretty happy about
1:33 that. After JC which we had a little bit early in order to accommodate this, there
1:37 was the 16 plus check-in meeting. So basically anyone who is 16 over or will
1:44 be 16 by the start of next school year was asked to come to this meeting and
1:49 where we talked about graduation and flex time and just how everybody was
1:55 feeling and you know so we kind of went around in a circle all the students kind
2:01 of saying what they felt like saying about it. Some expressed you know well a
2:09 number of them kind of had had this notion of both confidence and
2:13 uncertainty about their future and being comfortable with that and I thought that
2:16 was really healthy to hear. Some had plans and others were you know didn't
2:29 and that was fine. Hopefully they can all start they have something they want to
2:36 pursue that they do that and if not they find something to to explore to do to
2:42 give them a notion that yeah they can do whatever they want. We tried to emphasize
2:50 to them that being uncertain with life is basically you know how life goes. Very
2:58 few people have just a complete certainty their whole life. Those who
3:03 have it for a long period of time sometimes crash even harder than those
3:07 who have had to live with uncertainty most of their life. So hopefully we
3:12 conveyed that. We also talked about our graduation process and some detail and
3:17 hopefully those who want to graduate are thinking about that and will let us know
3:21 and I hope they think give some good thought about their advising group. I
3:27 think that's where a lot of the value of the whole process lies is you know the
3:31 student kind of writing their thesis and then really having dialogue and feedback
3:36 with staff and a student maybe more if they ask but at least two people and
3:42 sort of collaborating in this way which I think is really really a nice thing to
3:50 experience and then and so yeah that was there and then at right after that Josh
4:05 had his history class it was about history of rubber which is a which is
4:13 you know kind of a native history to experience. I mean you know a lot of bad
4:25 things happened and so yeah I assume that's that went well and then Phil is
4:36 experimenting with what I consider to be a bad idea but others I think are liking
4:42 it which is basically having a TV out here in the under the tent with a
4:49 Chromecast stuck into it so people can broadcast whatever Chromecast thing can
4:56 broadcast including YouTube so I guess we'll see how that plays out. I love the
5:05 natural sounds but whatever we'll see. I also spent a little bit of time walking
5:10 around our property picking up trash and very little on our property but
5:14 immediately adjacent particularly in the grassy strip in between on Walther you
5:21 know a whole decent bag of trash so that's always fun you know people drive
5:26 by and say thank you um which is uh that's nice maybe we can do more of that
5:32 sometime. Alrighty so I think that's oh yeah I also wanted to mention something
5:40 I forgot about yesterday which is I think there's some pictures coming out
5:46 but in the newsletter perhaps but there was a game of card game being played and
5:52 people were wearing these disposable food serving gloves it was kind of cool
5:58 and and neat so there's that. Alrighty and I will sign off as I watch
6:11 another game of Gaga being played and you all have a good day and talk to you
6:18 all later.
