Alright, welcome to Arts and Ideas in the Air, Under the Tent, and Around Baltimore.
0:07
This is your daily Arts and Ideas news briefing as to what's going on in and around Arts and
0:14
Ideas.
0:16
So today is a bit of an overcast day, never really got hot but wasn't really cold so it's
0:23
quite nice and pleasant.
0:25
I unfortunately had a very long staff meeting in the afternoon, lovely people as always,
0:33
but it is inside, unfortunately.
0:37
Socially distanced, the computer lab has been largely vacated these past couple of weeks,
0:45
so that's a nice big empty space that staff sometimes take over for this purpose.
0:51
Anyway, and of course there's also a big ole meeting tonight, assembly meeting at 7pm,
0:59
hope to see all you crazy cats out there tonight, that'd be cool.
1:04
Let's see, what else happened today, we've got Gaga Pit action continuing throughout
1:09
the day, right now it seems a very active group of girls hitting back and forth with
1:20
the ball, they're having a lot of fun.
1:23
Earlier today there was about a whole bunch of people, including Phil, taking it in, seemed
1:30
like he would get taken out pretty early, big people are easy targets.
1:37
We also had a contemplation corporation meeting, the first one of the year, so that's cool,
1:45
I heard something about possibly bonsais making their way here, so that'd be kinda cool.
1:50
Tomorrow we have Article Club at 11, it's entitled Profession by Isaac Asimov, and so
2:00
looking forward to discussing that.
2:09
We also implemented our first day of signed devices computer by Anacado, so that seems
2:18
to have gone well, I don't know of any write ups with regards to it, people seem to be
2:22
okay, so that was nice.
2:29
So that's kinda the daily briefing, now it's tip of the week Thursday, last week I mentioned
2:37
bucket washing during the pandemic, Winterlam, also known as Summer Sheep asks, "How often
2:45
do I bucket wash and do I listen to anything while doing that?"
2:52
Well, I find that two or three times a week kinda does it, the shirts and stuff, half
3:01
a week's worth of shirts and so forth fit easily inside one load in a bucket, pants
3:08
are a different matter, they take a bit more space and time, so you might need to do a
3:13
little bit more for that, for bigger pants.
3:17
In terms of music, well I love the rock anthem of my generation, not the song, namely the
3:26
album Dining on Apocalypse, no, Appetite for Destruction, that's right, Welcome to the
3:34
Jungle, does the music for the soap rinse, or for the soap plunging, Paradise City is
3:41
for the rinse cycle, and Sweet Child of Mine is the spin dry cycle, so there you go, music
3:48
list for bucket washing your clothing, oh, that was an organic composting truck that
3:58
just went by, that's exciting.
4:01
This week's tip of the week is about microwave popcorn, so you could of course buy bagged
4:10
microwave popcorn, but that's kinda pricey and has a whole bunch of things on it that
4:15
you know, maybe you don't want to have on it, so what I actually do is I have these
4:19
little sandwich brown paper bags, environmentally friendly, they don't have any kind of wax
4:27
on it or anything like that, and they are microwaveable, so right in the box, so I just
4:36
put some popcorn in the bag, fold it up, and pop it for about, well I set it for four minutes,
4:43
and after about a minute and a half, the bag is kinda puffed up, I take it out, there's
4:49
still more kernels, so I put it back in, pop it up again, I do that a couple times, maybe
4:53
the third time I start burning popcorn, so then I stop, but, you can easily microwave
4:59
popcorn in a bag, you don't need anything special on it, no oil on it or anything else,
5:05
but when you're done, you can flavor it any way you would, but I personally prefer coconut
5:10
oil, kinda drizzled on top with a little garlic powder and salt, mmm, I find that stuff bunnies
5:17
really love it.
5:18
Anyway, so that's your tip of the week, microwave popcorn, homemade style, I know some people
5:25
love pots and pans, popcorning, and air popping, and all sorts of things, but I grew up on
5:32
microwave popcorn and I enjoy having a homemade version of that, alright, well that's about
5:39
enough for today, hope you all have a good day and I hope to see you possibly at assembly
5:44
tonight, again that's for staff, students, and parents, so at least you'll see, the main
5:51
thing that we're hoping to discuss tonight is letting in new new families through our
5:58
admissions process, so that'd be cool and exciting, see y'all later.
