Welcome to Arts and Ideas in the Air, Under the Tent and Around Baltimore.
0:08
This is day number five of our school year.
0:12
It's all, most importantly, the school meeting, the school meeting team made up of people in person and online.
0:23
We had a number of interesting items to discuss, including this podcast got approved, and so that's exciting.
0:36
We also have a couple of rules changes.
0:41
One was the ability to bring electronics outside in order to support while being outside.
0:48
As well as adding to the rules that keyboards and mice that have been provided by the school for use with our school computers should be unplugged and stowed away when done.
1:00
So that's pretty good.
1:02
We also had several approvals for purchasing a few things.
1:07
One is a computer game, Tony Hawk's something, skateboarding I guess.
1:20
And let's see, there was also a time lapse camera, first going to be used for filming caterpillar changing.
1:31
And then hopefully later, just lots of other cool things to be done with time lapse cameras.
1:38
And let's see, we also discussed Black Lives Matter sign purchasing.
1:45
So that was an exciting discussion to show our support for that movement and to purchase the signs from female owned black business.
1:57
So look for those signs to be appearing once we acquire them.
2:01
And let's see, and perhaps, oh, we also elected a new JC clerk, Declan, who will be a fantastic clerk.
2:10
Looking forward to that.
2:13
And next kind of clerks to tackle will be the year long clerks that we usually do in the springtime, but obviously we didn't do because we weren't in session.
2:24
And then perhaps the biggest news of all is chore time has been suspended officially for now.
2:33
We're looking forward to when we have enough mess going on around here to bring it back.
2:39
But for now, no need for chore time because things are looking pretty clean.
2:48
So, yeah, it was a beautiful school meeting underneath the tent had great connection on Discord.
2:54
Wonderful audio system going on.
2:58
Looking forward to tomorrow, Wednesday, in which there'll be the one o'clock history class to be posted on Discord with the text channel on there.
3:10
Dedicated to that and maybe some Zoom linked into there as well.
3:16
It'll be talking about history through the lens of the bicycle as usual with some talk of the 1860s and I guess the reintroduction of the bicycle to the US as well as a presentation by Declan on the Haitian Revolution.
3:32
So that's very exciting.
3:35
And I think that's what we've got on tap for tomorrow.
3:41
Also, this podcast, having been approved, will try to do this at two thirty every day on the Discord channel, assuming I can work out a technical problem.
3:50
I did record in the Discord today on another version.
3:54
It's also posted just so you can hear it.
3:57
But there was this kind of weird echo with my voice, probably Discord feeding back into the recording as well.
4:06
I'll have to figure out how to deal with that. Otherwise, it seems to have gone well.
4:12
So life is good here under the tent and I hope you're all good all around Baltimore.
4:22
See you later.
